We believe chess is for everyone

We meet on Thursdays at 7:15pm, at the Lytham Ex Service Club on Chapel Street in Lytham.

And no matter how seriously you take your chess, you're welcome here. Our players range from beginners to experts, and we're always happy to welcome new members, whether you want to play in competitions or just for fun.

Competitions

If you’re interested in competing, why not join one of our five teams? Each team caters to a different skill level. Team 5 is ideal for more casual players, or anyone looking to enter their first competition, whereas team 1 is reserved for our top players.

Blackpool & Fylde Chess League

Our teams compete annually in all three divisions of the Blackpool & Fylde League, as well as the various cup competitions including The Challenge Cup, The Rapid Play Cup, and the Blackpool & Fylde Individual Championship.

Club members have the opportunity to play in both The Individual Championship and The Summer Tournament, facing players within Lytham Chess Club.

Social Play

If you don't want to get involved with championships, or feel you need to ease yourself in before piling on the pressure, everyone at the club will be willing to give you a friendly game.
